Data controller

TV Protect is the data controller for personal data collected through tvprotect.co.uk. Contact: [email protected].

Lawful basis for processing

We process personal data only where we have a lawful basis to do so:

• Consent — newsletter subscriptions; analytics cookies
• Legitimate interests — responding to contact form enquiries
• Legal obligation — where required by applicable law

We do not process special category data. We do not carry out automated decision-making or profiling.

Data minimisation

We collect only the minimum data necessary for the stated purpose. The contact form collects name, email and message. Newsletter sign-up collects email address only. Our interactive tools process all inputs locally in your browser — no tool data is transmitted to or stored on our servers.

Data subject rights

Under UK GDPR you have the following rights. To exercise any of them, contact [email protected]. We will respond within one calendar month.

• Right to rectification — request correction of inaccurate data
• Right to erasure — request deletion of your personal data
• Right to restrict processing — request we limit how we use your data

Cookies and consent

We use a cookie consent banner on first visit. Strictly necessary cookies are set regardless of consent. Analytics cookies are only activated following explicit acceptance. Cookie preferences are stored in localStorage and can be changed at any time by clearing your browser data for this site.

Data retention

Contact form data: retained up to 12 months, then deleted. Newsletter email addresses: retained until unsubscription. Anonymised analytics: up to 26 months. We do not retain personal data beyond these periods.

Third-party processors

We use Google Fonts (font delivery). Where we use third-party email delivery for newsletters, that provider acts as a data processor under our instruction and is bound by appropriate data processing agreements. We do not use third-party advertising platforms that process personal data without consent.

International transfers

Google Fonts may process data outside the UK. Google participates in the UK-US data bridge and maintains appropriate safeguards. No other international transfers of personal data occur.

Complaints

If you believe we have not handled your personal data correctly, you have the right to lodge a complaint with the Information Commissioner's Office (ICO): ico.org.uk or by calling 0303 123 1113.
